SWEET NOSTALGIA "EAST COAST" CD RELEASE TOURSeptember 8, 2011

Hello dear friends!

Now that you have emerged from the summers' tents, trailers, cabins, beaches, boats, festivals, lawn chairs, patios, and other sunsoaked extravaganzas, it's time for us to make our big announcement: Oh My Darling are releasing their second full length album, Sweet Nostalgia ! And with this, of course, come a lengthy and sure to be amazing tour so that we can bring these brand new albums right to your doorstep! First to the plate is a tour of Eastern Canada, starting on Sept 15th. We'll be driving from Montreal to the Maritimes to Quebec, Ottawa to Toronto, and everywhere in-between! As always, check out the LIVE link on this website to get the full tour schedule. October is a whirlwind of a month as well, as we will be making our first appearances in the United States, playing at the Living Room in New York City, on October 11th, and at Arts Northwest in Eugene, Oregon. We'll also be showcasing at OCFF, and Breakout West (in the Yukon!!) this year, and are looking forward to all the great people and music at these awesome events!

Tickets are now on sale for the Winnipeg CD Release of Sweet Nostalgia, Nov 5th @ the West End Cultural Centre, presented by the Winnipeg Folk Festival, and the West End Cultural Centre. Tix can be purchased at Ticketmaster, the West End Cultural Centre, and the Winnipeg Folk Festival Music Store.

Here's a little bit about the new album:

"Sweet Nostalgia is the second full length release by the stellar country/roots quartet of young women, Oh My Darling. Inspired by Classic country, Appalachian Old Time, and Francophone Traditional music, the songs of Sweet Nostalgia are strikingly original, while evoking the lexicon of these diverse musical influences. In only three short years, the band has toured ceaselessly, headlining sold out shows across Europe and Canada, becoming crowd favourites at country and folk festivals, and winning the hearts of all who come to experience their energetic live show. It's this love for live performance that Oh My Darling strove to capture while recording Sweet Nostalgia. In just seven days, in a straw bale house in Roseisle, Manitoba, all 10 tracks were recorded live, with the Juno Award winning producer Steve Dawson. The result is a raw and honest sound that has the exuberance of a live show, and shines a spotlight on each of these girls' extraordinary talents as musicians and songwriters."
